A native of Tennessee who eventually settled in Texas, Kathryn E. Jones began gathering information on the Crockett family in 1972 when she discovered a close family connection to Tennessee congressman and Alamo hero David Crockett. Her wide-ranging research led to correspondence with other family members around the United States and beyond.
